Jon Q. McClain

Jon Q. McClain is a Technology Manager, published author, and MBA candidate with more than fourteen years of experience leading and supporting technology operations across corporate, healthcare, hospitality, sports, and enterprise environments.
Beginning his career in Audio Visual (AV) technology, Jon built his reputation through hands-on problem solving, operational leadership, and a commitment to continuous growth. Over the years, his responsibilities expanded beyond AV into broader Information Technology (IT), workplace technology, and enterprise operations, where he has led teams, managed complex technology ecosystems, and supported mission-critical business functions.
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Jon's professional journey has been shaped by resilience, adaptability, and a belief that success is built through discipline, ownership, and lifelong learning. His leadership philosophy centers on a simple principle: technology alone does not create results people, processes, communication, and accountability do.
In 2026, Jon published his first book, The AV Playbook: Volume I: Lessons I Learned the Hard Way, a practical guide focused on leadership, troubleshooting, communication, and professional growth within the technology industry. Through his writing, he aims to help professionals accelerate their development by learning from real-world experiences and lessons often overlooked in traditional training programs.
Jon is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) while continuing to lead technology initiatives and contribute to the evolving intersection of AV, IT, and business strategy.
Through Jon Q. McClain Publishing, he shares insights on technology leadership, operational excellence, career development, and the human side of building successful organizations.
